The Mirror of Peace as a platform where different voices, experiences and perspectives can be seen, heard and brought into dialogue.
On 5 October, The Mirror of Peace will be the starting point for an inspiring evening on the Summer Stage in the Main Courtyard of MuseumsQuartier Wien. A panel discussion will bring together different perspectives on one of the most urgent themes of our time.
Activists Ishraga Mustafa Hamid and Petar Rosandić will share experiences from their journeys to the external borders of the European Union and reflect on what peace means to the people they encounter through their daily work. Corinna Otto, Director of Draiflessen Collection, will speak about the importance of partnerships between institutions and artists in engaging with social questions, and Renee van Bavel will share insights into her creative process.
The evening will also feature a musical response to The Mirror of Peace by the wonderful Kurdish-Canadian sound artist, pianist and composer Kasho Chualan.
The conversation will be moderated by Astrid Peterle, Chief Curator at MuseumsQuartier Wien, and Michael Podgorac, Co-Curator of the Erinnern in Zukunft initiative at Brunnenpassage.
